[HALAL] Nice roti canai @ Desa Mutiara

This time we really jalan jalan until quite a remote place and found a good cheap eat early in the morning around Johor Bahru.

Very very very very very very old school setting. A rundown roadside stall beside flats area. Won't look appealing to most of of this generation. But I saw quite a few customer in this particular stall vs other stall (ya, there are like 3 other stall selling roti canai along this stretch)

This is at Desa Mutiara, not too far from the newest Aeon @ Bandar Dato Onn.

Roti Kosong & Roti Telur Bawang

Went down, ordered my usual combo of roti telur bawang and roti kosong (if the place is empty and they have a lot of premade roti kosong, then i'll order roti empat segi, if the place is busy i'll take roti kosong as it is usually still hot)

Flaky yet soft roti kosong
Roti kosong on the left, looks cute eh. You can request for non-clapped version but then it wouldn't look like this.

Nicely cut and stacked up roti telur bawang
Roti Telur Bawang on the right, it has been a long time since someone actually cut my roti for me.

My breakfast set today

Mixture of dhal + curry and sambal'
The kuah is a mixture of dhal and kari. With some meat in it. Got to mix the sambal together. It taste really good. A good companion of the nice roti canai. And the friendly boss reminded 'Tak cukup mintak lagi ya' (Ask for more if it is not enough)

The roti kosong is not exactly piping hot, but it is luke warm. Still flaky yet soft after being 'clapped' by the abang. The taste of planta is quite obvious but not overly powered or 'jelak'.

I love the roti telur bawang a lot. Firstly, they took the time to stack it together to be double layer and cut it (which I doubt a lot of place does it anymore)
Secondly, I can actually feel the egg almost EVERY bite. The egg is distribute very evenly. The same goes for the bawang.
Imagine you took both layer together, put it in your mouth. The taste of very fluffy and soft roti, with eggs and bawang whenever you took a bite.

Definitely enjoyed my breakfast this particular day. And it is not expensive.
RM4.50 for roti kosong, roti telur bawang and a kopi-o. So it would be RM1 for roti kosong, RM2 for roti telur bawang and RM1.50 for kopi-o , which is the standard price at a lot of Malay breakfast stall.

From the front, we can see the roti prata station, with the abang manning it

Simple and clean.

They have nasi lemak, mee siam and some other dishes as well.

It says Warung Muhamad Bin Dollah, which is only visible when you are inside of their shop.

!!  ** MY VERDICT **  !!

WORTH THE MONEY? :  (Standard pricing, better than a lot of roti I have tried)
TASTE : ♥ (Yeah, it do taste good enough for me)
ENVIRONMENT :  (Not appealing on this department. Kampung feels, friendly people inside)
ACCESSIBILITY  :  (Parking might be an issue as I noticed the whole stretch of road is full of cars)
RETURN TO EAT : Yeap, but will try the 3 other stalls first

date visited : 3rd week of Sept 2017

Photo of the shop frontage and location map as below.

Might need to take some time to find though

Name : Warung Mohamad Bin Dollah
Address : Jln Desa Mutiara Utama, Desa Mutiara, 81100, Johor Bahru

It is at the opposite of the rubbish house between Block 12 and Block 14.
So just go all the way to Block 12, you'll see the rubbish collection place next to it, It is directly opposite the rubbish collection place.
